Arsenal: Richard Keys will hate what fans did after beating Aston Villa

Arsenal maintained their 100% record in the Premier League this season by beating Aston Villa 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium.

Overall, it was a deserved victory on the night for Mikel Arteta’s men and they should have won by a far bigger margin – which is proven by the fact they had a whopping eight shots on target.

In the first half, Arsenal were absolutely electric and finally took the lead on the half hour mark through their new talisman, Gabriel Jesus.

The Gunners then had numerous chances to effectively kill the game as a contest, but squandered all of them.

That allowed Villa to unexpectedly get themselves back in the match on 74 minutes, Douglas Luiz scoring directly from a corner kick for the second time in just over a week.

But Arsenal responded to the setback in thrilling style. Three minutes after Luiz’s sublime effort, Gabriel Martinelli fired home from close-range to put the hosts back in front.

Arteta’s men were able to see out the remainder of the match to make it five wins from five ahead of their trip to Manchester United on Super Sunday.

The atmosphere inside the Emirates throughout the night was quite incredible and outside the stadium after full-time, the wild celebrations continued.

In fact, Arsenal fans have gone viral on social for letting off fireworks in order to pay homage to the victory over Villa.
