Arsenal put Roma star ‘at the top’ of their wish list; discover club’s willingness to sell

Arsenal have reportedly put Tammy Abraham ‘at the top’ of their summer wish list, while the Gunners have also discovered whether Roma will be open to a sale.

The striker has been in exceptional form since leaving Chelsea in the summer, finding the net 24 times in 46 games so far. He is helping Roma in their push for European qualification from Serie A. Jose Mourinho’s side are also in the last four of the Europa Conference League.

Chelsea sold Abraham for £34million and apparently have a buy-back clause worth £68m. This will activate in the summer of 2023.

He could return to the Premier League before then as Arsenal hold an interest. Recent reports suggest they are plotting a bid worth £50m this summer.

In response to this, Roma have told Mikel Arteta’s side to stump up £68m for Abraham. Therefore, the Italian outfit want Arsenal to match Chelsea’s clause on the Englishman.

Italian outlet Calciomercato provide an update on Arsenal’s transfer hunt. They claim the Gunners have put Abraham ‘at the top’ of their wish list for later this year.

He could be taken to the Emirates to reinvigorate Arteta’s centre-forward options.

Arsenal sold Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to Barcelona in the winter window. Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah could both leave as free agents at the end of the season, too.
