Mikel Arteta has a bit of a transfer headache at Arsenal.

The Gunners have had a highly successful transfer window so far, welcoming the arrivals of Brazilian wonderkid Marquinhos from Sao Paulo, former New England Revolution goalkeeper Matt Turner, Portuguese playmaker Fabio Vieira and ex-Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus. But after years of poor recruitment at the Emirates, Arteta faces heading into the new season with plenty of deadwood still at the club.

It comes as the Gunners have reportedly submitted an offer to bring in their fifth summer signing as they target Lille winger Edon Zhegrova. And transfer chief Edu has joined his son Luigi Gaspar in announcing that he has signed for a new club after Arsenal decided to let him go.

Arsenal are struggling to get rid of a handful of players this summer despite bringing in a number of new faces.

Mikel Arteta continues to overhaul his playing squad, but is struggling to move on some of the deadwood. Bernd Leno, Lucas Torreira, Pablo Mari and Nicolas Pepe have all been deemed surplus to requirements but are yet to secure their exits out of north London.
