Arsenal: Footage of Mikel Arteta's epic dressing room speech after awful start to 2021/22

Arsenal couldn’t have made a worse start to the 2021/22 Premier League season if they tried.

Opening up with a 2-0 defeat at newly-promoted Brentford and following it up with losses to Chelsea and Manchester City, the Gunners found themselves rock bottom on zero points with nine goals conceded and not a single one scored.

There were wide-spread calls for Mikel Arteta to be sacked and the jokes that Arsenal would be battling relegation all season were raining in left, right and centre.

However, as we all know, it ultimately proved to be a storm in a teacup within the wider context of Arsenal’s season as they proceeded to shock everybody by launching an assault on the Champions League places.

They might have fallen at the final hurdle, sure, but the north London club nevertheless fought back against the odds to show that their young team can indeed punch above its weight.

Nevertheless, they couldn’t have achieved that without some brilliant work from Arteta behind the scenes, which will be shown to the world as part of Amazon Prime’s latest ‘All or Nothing’ documentary.

The Gunners followed in the footsteps of Manchester City, Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus by welcoming cameras into their world and giving unrivalled insight to fans on what their 2021/22 season was actually like.

And ahead of the programme’s release on August 4, the Premier League giants posted a brilliant clip showing the dressing room speech that Arteta gave to his squad after losing those three opening games.

The former City coach addressed his players ahead of what turned out to be a 1-0 win over Norwich City in their fourth league game, and the pressure on his pre-match speech couldn’t have been higher.
