Arsenal Mocked Over Celebrations Following Win Over Wolves
Arsenal have been mocked for their celebrations following their win over Wolves on Thursday night, after accusations it was as if they'd 'won the Premier League.'
Midfielder Ruben Neves accused the north Londoners of acting like they'd just 'won the Premier League,' with their post match actions.
"We saw the way they celebrated the win and that shows the level we are," Neves told BBC Sport.
"I didn't see Arsenal celebrating like this in the past 10 years - it was like they won the league."
There was some controversy surrounding Gabriel's winner, with Alexandre Lacazette accused of impeding Jose Sa at the corner.
Neves feels that a foul should have been given, adding, "With their goal there is some doubt about whether it was a foul or not but that's football. We are used to these decisions.
"...I can accept the decision about their goal but in some games they give it and in some games they don't. They need to do the same decisions in every game because it's frustrating for us."
Manager Bruno Lage also wasn't convinced but refused to use the decision as an excuse for the loss, saying, "For the goal, saw some contact with the goalkeeper in the six-yard box.
"I think the striker touches Jose, his foot on his hand, and in my opinion it's a foul, but we cannot find that excuse."
However the goal wasn't the controversy that courted the most conversation following the game, with Martinelli's sending off kicking off plenty of debate.
The forward picked up two yellow cards in the same minute for two fouls in the same incident, something that is in the rules but is extremely rare to see.
