Arsenal Legend Ian Wright Backs Liverpool To Win The Premier League Title This Season

Arsenal legend Ian Wright has backed Liverpool to beat Manchester City to the Premier League title season.

Defending champions City are currently nine points clear at the top of the table having played a game more than their closest rivals.

Liverpool have won their last seven matches in all competitions and could move to within six points of City if they beat struggling Norwich at Anfield on Saturday afternoon, with Pep Guardiola’s side hosting Tottenham in the late kick-off.

Jurgen Klopp’s side will then play their game in hand against Leeds United on Wednesday.

Wright believes the title race is still very much alive, with the two teams still to face each other at the Etihad on April 9.

“I still think that Liverpool believe that they might be able to still do it,” Wright told The Kelly & Wrighty Show.

“I fancy that Liverpool will probably think they can do the Champions League as well.

“I'm not going to write Liverpool off, I'm going to go with Liverpool [to win the league].”

Klopp insists he is not thinking about catching Manchester City and has “plenty of problems” to solve at Liverpool, with the Carabao Cup final against Chelsea to come next Sunday.

Liverpool forward Diogo Jota is in a race against time to be fit for the match after injuring his ankle ligaments in their 2-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League on Wednesday.

“There is actually a lot to fix,” said Klopp.

“Of all the problems I have the smallest one is what you said about City. There is no day in the week, no minute actually, when I think about that.

“We have nothing to do with that, we only have to win our games and see if we come closer or not.

“Outside of that, we fight for a Champions League spot. For that, we need to win games. If we want to go further
