Arsenal legend aims dig at Leicester City as he questions Youri Tielemans ambitions

Legendary former Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has stated that he 'would take' Leicester City star Youri Tielemans signing for the north London club.

The 24-year-old has been the subject of significant rumours over recent months before and since the January transfer window due to the open secret that there is little time remaining on the player's contract. A four-year deal signed upon Tielemans ' permanent arrival at the King Power Stadium is set to expire at the end of next season.

Arsenal are not the only club to have been credited with an interest, though. Both Liverpool and Real Madrid have also been named as suitors in the past

It is former Gunners players, though, who have been most vocal about the Belgium international's potential addition to Mikel Arteta's side. Ex- England international Seaman, who spent 13 years at Arsenal, spoke about Tielemans on Sky Sports this week.

“Where does he want to go?” Seaman asked [via HITC ]. “Does he want to go to a bigger club? Or is he happy at Leicester? Only he will know.

“From what you see there, he seems to get on well (with manager Brendan Rodgers ). When does his contract end? In 2023, I think? But I would take him at Arsenal.”

A fellow member of The Invincibles side that won the Premier League in 2003-04 by going unbeaten, Ray Parlour, also discussed the midfielder moving south just last weekend.

"I really like Youri Tielemans at Leicester City," he told the Design Museum via our colleagues at The Star. "I think he’s a great young player, and I expect he will be in big demand this summer, especially if he’s actively wanting to move elsewhere. He only has a year left on his contract, and maybe Leicester City will want to cash in now rather than risk losing
