Arsenal: Kroenke decision now 'well justified' at the Emirates

Arsenal will have ‘every neutral’ Premier League fan hoping that they can challenge for the Premier League title, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The Gunners have made a blistering start to the season under manager Mikel Arteta and look to be the side most capable of toppling reigning champions Manchester City.

Following a disappointing ending to an ultimately promising 2021/22 campaign, Arsenal’s hierarchy backed Arteta in the transfer market over the summer once again.

The likes of Gabriel Jesus, Oleksandr Zinchenko and Fabio Vieira arrived at the Emirates Stadium in big-money deals, and so far, it appears to be money well spent.

Arsenal are currently sitting at the top of the top-flight standings after eight games, one point clear of City after dropping just three points.

And that may be a relief to supporters of the Premier League around the globe as Liverpool, who have finished in the top two three times in the last four years, are 10 points adrift of Pep Guardiola’s charges.

After being asked if Arsenal can challenge City for the title, Sheth told GiveMeSport: “I think every neutral will hope that answer is yes.

“Only because if you look at how the seasons gone, Liverpool, who were many people’s tips not only for the title but at least the challenge City, now that can still happen of course, but they’ve got a big gap to fill.

“Even now, seven games gone, I think they’ve got 10 points so far this season. They’re already double-figure digits away from City and Arsenal in the race for the title, albeit with a game in hand.
