Arsenal injury round-up and update: Bukayo Saka, Thomas Partey, Tierney doubts for West Ham

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will be hoping to have a fit and willing team when they welcome West Ham United to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday.

The Hammers will be coming off a UEFA Europa League semi-final defeat to Frankfurt on Thursday night and could rest players ahead of the second-leg next Thursday. But Arteta can't lose sleep on what West Ham will do as he faces fitness questions around a number of players.

While Arteta will address the state of the squad in his pre-match press conference, here has taken a look at who might feature this weekend and who is likely to miss out.

Bukayo Sako worried Arsenal fans when he was taken off in the 3-1 win over Manchester United last weekend.

Having scored a penalty, Saka was taken off with 15 minutes remaining and was seen limping after the final whistle. Arteta said after the match that the club would see how fares in the build-up to the Hammers match and it remains to be seen whether the England international will feature on Sunday.

Speaking on April 23, Arteta said: "Bukayo was struggling even in the first half of the match, but he really wanted to do it. He had a big knock the other night, and as soon as this, he was struggling, so let’s see how he is."

Gunners left-back Kieran Tierney continues to miss out having picked up an injury at the start of the month.

Following a training session, Arteta confirmed that the Scotland international was to undergo knee surgery in a move that would surely put an end to his 2021/22 season and leave the team looking for a starting replacement in Nuno Tavares or potentially Granit Xhaka being moved from midfield to cover at the back.
