Arsenal fans pile in as Nottingham Forest linked with shock transfer

Arsenal fans are unhappy over Nottingham Forest's interest in Olympique Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, who was linked to the London club multiple times in the past.

Aouar, who had ten goal contributions from 36 Ligue 1 appearances last season for Lyon, failed to find a move to England but now, with rumoured interest from both Forest and Leicester City, that move could be a possibility.

Steve Cooper's side have already bought in 12 new signings to try and compete in the Premier League and, with this reported move, could be well on their way to making it 13 signings this summer. Cooper has said recently that "there will be more ins and outs" and that there is "maybe some truth" in the transfer rumours they've been linked with.

Arsenal fans, however, don't seem too happy with the proposed move. Despite not being linked with Aouar this summer, some fans took to social media to give their thoughts.

One said, "He didnt want to join arsenal no way hes joining forest" whilst another noted "Nah he's dropped off since [Arsenal tried to sign him last summer]. Dodged a bullet".

A third chimed in with "There seems to be a massive chasm between how good Arsenal fans think Houssem Aouar is and how good other football clubs think Aouar is. Because his suitors right now are Forest and Betis…" and a fourth said: "From Arsenal, Real Madrid and Juventus to Leicester City and Nottingham Forest".

Either way, Cooper and his squad will be looking ahead to this Sunday's 2:00 pm fixture against West Ham which you can watch on Sky Sports Main Event, or Sky Sports Premier League where build-up begins at 1:00 pm.
