Arsenal enter talks with agent to sign Man Utd striker target Victor Osimhen, but ‘tough’ factor threatens deal

Arsenal have reportedly begun talks with an agent over the capture of star striker Victor Osimhen, as they aim to beat Manchester United to his services.

The Gunners are on the hunt for a new player to spearhead their attack as centre-forwards Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are likely to leave. Arsenal improved several positions last summer, so most of their transfer funds this time around could be spent on a new goalscorer, such as Osimhen.

United, meanwhile, have club legend Cristiano Ronaldo in their ranks. And Erik ten Hag insists the Portuguese forward is part of his plans for next season.

Nevertheless, the Red Devils will need to find his successor at some point. Ronaldo is now 37 years old and cannot be relied on forever.

Both Arsenal and United are monitoring Osimhen’s situation ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Nigeria international will cost big money after a top campaign with Napoli in Serie A. He hit 18 goals in all competitions, helping them reach third in the league and the knockout round play-offs of the Europa League.

But this shouldn’t put Arsenal or United off Osimhen as they know striker is one of the most important positions on the pitch.
