Arsenal 'doing everything in their power' to agree deal for 21 y/o at Emirates

Arsenal will be doing “absolutely everything in their power” to keep star man Gabriel Martinelli, according to journalist Paul Brown.

The £90,000 per-week ace has been one of the club’s best players this season, although the Brazil international is attracting interest from London rivals Chelsea.

According to The Daily Mail, the Blues are interested in a shock move for Martinelli, who’s gone from strength to strength at the Emirates Stadium this season.

Martinelli’s time in north London has largely been disrupted by injuries, but he’s managed to stay fit for the best part of two years and is now reaping the rewards.

But his impressive performances have caught the attention of Chelsea, who are trying to take advantage of his contract situation, with his deal running out at the end of the 2023-2024 season.

Regardless, with the 21-year-old quickly becoming key to everything good in north London right now, Brown reckons that Arsenal will be doing their all to ensure the flying winger commits his future to the Gunners.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “There are people at Arsenal who’ve invested quite a lot of time and effort in Martinelli, and they’d be doing absolutely everything in their power to make sure he stays at the club.

“So, I think that’s going to be a long shot for Chelsea.”

Several Arsenal players are playing right at the top of their game, but perhaps none better than the Brazilian.

In nine Premier League games, he’s already registered four goals and two assists, and is proving himself against the very best.

That’s because Martinelli was in fine form in the north London derby, notably assisting Granit Xhaka’s goal, before producing a wonderful display in the victory over Liverpool last time out.
