Arsenal could be title challengers with 'more signings like Gabriel Jesus'

Arsenal could become title challengers in the near future if technical director Edu continues to get the club’s recruitment right, says Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

The Brazilian and Mikel Arteta brought in the likes of Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko in the summer transfer window, and the former has perhaps put the Gunners in title contention already.

After winning all but one of their first eight games this season, Arsenal find themselves sitting at the top of the Premier League table on 21 points.

Jesus, who joined the north London outfit from Manchester City in a £45m deal (via BBC Sport), has been at the centre of their fantastic start to the campaign.

In eight league appearances, the Brazil international has already scored five goals, with his latest coming in the 3-1 win against Arsenal’s fierce rivals Tottenham.

Across those games, Jesus has also conjured up three assists, so he looks like the complete attacker at this moment in time.

While Sheth has some doubts about this season, if Arsenal continue to recruit well, the Sky Sports reporter thinks they can challenge for the title in the future.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “Whether they can be title challengers this season, I don’t know.

“But make no mistake about it, if they continue on this trajectory and they continue to get their recruitment right, the likes of Gabriel Jesus, what a signing he’s turned out to be, then why can’t they be title challengers in the not too distant future?”
