Arsenal could be 'priced out' of move for £32m star at the Emirates

Arsenal could be priced out of a move for Leicester City and Belgium midfielder Youri Tielemans if they don’t make a move for the player in the next week, according to Dean Jones.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been mooted to make a move for the 25-year-old across the summer, with the Emirates Stadium being the midfielder’s most-likely destination, but a move hasn’t progressed and the deal now looks unlikely to be completed before the transfer window shuts.

According to The Times, Leicester are willing to let the midfielder move to Arsenal for free next summer, and get one last season out of him at the King Power Stadium.

The 52-time Belgium international has entered the final year of his contract with Brendan Rodgers’ side, and will be available to sign for another club on a pre-contract for no transfer fee in January, but could be available for £32m this season.

The same report goes onto say that Arsenal have definitely been interested in a move for the former Monaco man this summer, but the club have yet to follow that up with an official bid to the East Midlands side.

And Jones believes that Leicester will price Arteta’s side out of a move for Tielemans, if the north London club don’t move for the midfielder this week.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “If not [if Arsenal don’t move for Tielemans in the next week], then Leicester just absolutely price them out of the deal.

“They’ve been open to the situation all summer, like there weren’t many players that they [Leicester] were happy to let leave but Tielemans was one that they were open to.

“So, the door has been open, but it’s going to close soon.”
