Emile Smith Rowe has made the starting line up for Arsenal's Premier League clash with Brentford at the Emirates.

The England international replaces Gabriel Martinelli who is suspended for today's game after picking up a controversial red card in the last fixture against Wolves.

There were some thoughts that Nicolas Pepe could replace the Brazilian in the starting line up after some positive comments from Mikel Arteta in midweek, but it's Smith Rowe who gets the nod.

The other big selection decision was at right back, where Takehiro Tomiyasu was pictured in training after a month out due to a calf injury, suggesting he could start.

The Japanese international is only fit enough for the bench though, meaning that Cedric Soares continues his run in the starting XI after an impresive outing at Molineux.

Bernd Leno meanwhile is back on the bench after recovering from a bout of COVID-19 that kept him out of the trip to Wolves.

There is also a place on the bench for youngster Omari Hutchinson, who makes the senior squad yet again after some impressive form for Kevin Betsy's under-23
