Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta stands by 'not fair' comments he made after Liverpool defeat

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has stood by his “not fair” comments that he made after his side’s defeat to Liverpool.

The Reds claimed a 2-0 win over the Gunners on Wednesday night, thanks to second half goals from Diogo Jota and Roberto Firmino.

Following the game, Arteta expressed his irritation with the fixture schedule presented to Arsenal. After facing Liverpool on Saturday, they are next in early kick-off action on Saturday against Aston Villa - a turnaround of around 62 hours.

"Thank you so much to the Premier League to do that," said Arteta in his post-match press conference on Wednesday. "And they've done it again for when we have to play Chelsea and Manchester United. So if they want to give them any advantage I say today, thank you so much for doing that."
