Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta sent transfer instruction over Aston Villa ace

Former Arsenal hero Kevin Campbell says that Arsenal should target Aston Villa star Ollie Watkins in the summer transfer window.

Watkins joined Villa in 2020 from Brentford. In his two years at Villa Park, the 26-year-old has made just over 60 appearances, contributing 21 goals.

Campbell believes the Gunners should try to sign Watkins for further squad depth next season, when Mikel Arteta's side could be competing in Europe.

Speaking to the Stadium Astro, Campbell said: "Even Ollie Watkins. I don't mind Ollie Watkins coming in as the second striker, I don't."

The England international has previously been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium last October.

ESPN also reported that Arteta held an interest for Watkins as a potential January transfer window signing.
