Both Arsenal and Tottenham have been linked with a summer transfer for Middlesbrough right-back Djed Spence and the defender produced one more moment to remember for Nottingham Forest on Sunday.

The 21-year-old joined the Reds on a season-long loan from Boro back in the summer transfer window and has helped them return to the Premier League for the first time in over 20 years. An own goal from Chelsea loanee Levi Colwill settled the game at Wembley as Forest beat Huddersfield 1-0 in the Championship play-off final.

Spence has been a consistent figure in Steve Cooper's side throughout the season, scoring twice and contributing five assists in 42 second-tier games. He played an impressive if unspectacular game in London on Sunday too in what could be his final audition for Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte.

He played the entire 90 minutes completing 86% of his passes and taking 73 touches. Spence may well feel disappointed to have not completed a dribble in the game, given his attacking prowess, but defensively he was infallible. Every tackle attempted was successful, four clearances were made and two interceptions made. It is easy to see why he has caught the eye and why he is so highly thought of by his manager.
