Arsenal and Chelsea stars dominate PFA Men's Young Player of the Year shortlist
Arsenal and Chelsea have two players each in the running for the PFA Men's Young Player of the Year award. Reece James, Conor Gallagher, Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe are all in contention for the gong.
James enjoyed a season disrupted by injury but still recorded six goals and ten assists across his 39 appearances for the Blues, while Saka notched up 12 goals and seven assists of his own across 43 outings for the Gunners. Chelsea youngster Gallagher had a lightning start to his loan at Crystal Palace and worked his way into Gareth Southgate's latest England squad with eight goals and five assists last term, while Smith Rowe made 37 appearances for Mikel Arteta on his way to 11 goals and two assists as Arsenal narrowly missed out on Champions League football.
Manchester City's Phil Foden and Aston Villa's Jacob Ramsey round out the list after impressive seasons in their own right. Foden has already been named the Premier League's Young Player of the Season for the second time, earning nine goals and five assists on his way to winning the Premier League. Foden has the opportunity to join Dele Alli, Wayne Rooney, Robbie Fowler and Ryan Giggs in recording back to back PFA Young Player of the Year wins.
