Arne Slot has £2.3m reasons for Celtic motivation as Feyenoord boss set to tussle with Rodgers for cash bounty

Arne Slot insists that Feyenoord have £2.3 million reasons for not treating their Champions League clash with Celtic as a dead-rubber.

The De Kuip boss has dimissed the notion of playing a weakened team with both sides knowing they can't reach the last 16 on matchday 6. While Brendan Rodgers' hosts know this will be their final European game of the season, Slot's men are dropping into the Europa League play-off knockout round. Eintracht Frankfurt boss Dino Toppmoller will use a rotated squad when facing Aberdeen in the Europa Conference League but the financial rewards for victory means Feyenoord are coming to Glasgow for a win

He pointed out: "A number of people at Feyenoord have already pointed out to me that a win is worth 2.7 million Euros several times. The game in Glasgow against Celtic really counts for something because we have played four great matches and one bad one in the Champions League and we want to make it five good games out of six.

"I believe we have put Feyenoord on the football map in the world because of the way we have played in this competition. I know it has impressed many people. We played one bad game against Atletico Madrid at home and that is why we want to prove ourselves one more time at Champions League level in a very difficult away match against Celtic. It's also important for us as a club to say goodbye to the Champions League in a dignified and professional way."
