Arnaut Danjuma told to consider Manchester United transfer amid sparkling Villarreal form

Arnaut Danjuma has been grabbing the attention of several top European giants this season with his scintillating performances for Villarreal.

The ex-Bournemouth man has netted six goals during his club’s Champions League journey to the semi-finals. Across all competitions this term, he has netted 16 times in 33 matches.

Naturally, such form has fuelled speculation of a transfer to a globally-acclaimed outfit. It seems Manchester United could be among those interested in Danjuma after club scouts reportedly watched him score the winner in the Champions League quarter-final first leg win over Bayern Munich earlier this month.

Former Villarreal and Liverpool defender Jose Enrique says Danjuma has the talent to succeed at a European big-hitter. Speaking to Lord Ping, Enrique spoke of his bafflement at how little the Spanish side forked out for him.

“I've been watching Villarreal the whole season and I couldn’t believe it, I was thinking ‘how much did they pay for him?’” he said. “They paid 25 million euros and Bournemouth paid 20 [million] so I think it's a bad bit of business from Bournemouth because his value at the moment is much higher.

“You can see the talent is there, even if he didn't do as well this season, you can see the talent is massive. I can see him stepping to one of the big teams.”

However, Enrique questioned whether a move to United per se would be beneficial given the contrasting fortunes of both clubs at the moment. But he conceded that if United came in for Danjuma, he should agree to move to Old Trafford.
