Are Rasmus Hojlund and Marcus Rashford fit to play for Manchester United? Injury news and FPL update

Manchester United have been hit harder than most sides when it comes to injuries this season. However, there is finally some brighter selection news on the horizon for Erik ten Hag - and FPL managers to boot.

Eight players including Rasmus Hojlund were missing against neighbours Manchester City - with Marcus Rashford scoring in a losing cause - as Jonny Evans and Rashford were withdrawn in that reverse. Both have been passed fit for the upcoming Premier League game with Everton at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon, though.

That meeting opens the curtain on another mouth-watering matchday as United aim to get back to winning ways amid their fading charge for Champions League qualification. Rashford being available is a much-needed boost and Ten Hag should be able to call upon Hojlund in the not-too-distant future, as well.

However, the Everton meeting will come too soon for him. Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Harry Maguire, Lisandro Martinez, Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Mason Mount and Anthony Martial are alongside Hojlund in the treatment room, while academy graduate Omari Forson has also picked up a knock after his cameo in the Manchester derby.

"They [Rashford and Evans] recovered after the derby, so they are available," confirmed Ten Hag at his pre-match press conference. "The rest is the same squad, apart from Omari Forson. He dropped out, he has an injury."

Ten Hag continued: "Harry Maguire and Aaron Wan-Bissaka... I expect them to be available for our [FA Cup] game against Liverpool. [Rasmus] Hojlund as well. For next week, some players are planning to return."

United will be without nine players
