Are pubs showing Scotland Nations League games against Croatia and Portugal?

Scotland face a massive Nations League double header against Croatia in Zagreb and Portugal at Hampden Park.

But despite the enormity of the two fixtures, they WON'T be shown on a traditional TV platform for the first time this CENTURY. That is because Nordic-based broadcaster Viaplay have picked up the games and will show it on the International YouTube channel. In a bigger slap in the face, fans will be able to watch England’s game against Greece on Thursday night on STV.

It won't be an issue for the travelling Tartan Army heading to the Maksimir Stadium in the beautiful Balkans or going to the National Stadium to see Cristiano Ronaldo and Co. However, what will it mean for the armchair fans and for those who fancy heading out to watch one or both of the games licensed premises? Record Sport has all you need to know.

Scotland will play Croatia in Group A1 on Saturday, October 12 in Zagreb. Then they return home to take on Portugal at Hampden Park on Tuesday, October 15.

The match will be FREE to watch on Viaplay Sports YouTube channel.

Sadly, many pubs will NOT be able to show the games. They would have to have a smart TV to enable them to download the YouTube app or show it via the browser. Record Sport spoke to a number of pubs across the country popular with Scotland fans, including the Rhoderick Dhu (Glasgow), Three Sisters (Edinburgh) and The Old Schoolhouse (Aberdeen) who all said they would be unable to show at the time of contact.
