Antony 'pushing' for Manchester United move and more transfer rumours

Antony is reportedly 'pushing' to join Manchester United despite Ajax's latest transfer demand.

According to De Telegraaf (as per Metro), the Brazilian winger is keen on a move to United in a bid to reunite with former coach Erik ten Hag. The report states that Antony's agent has held talks with Ajax in an effort to persuade the Dutch club to lower their valuation of the 22-year-old.

The news comes after it was reported Ajax have stuck a whopping £84m price tag on the player in an attempt to price United out of making a move. After United officially confirmed the signing of Lisandro Martinez on Wednesday, the club will still be hoping they can add one more Ajax player to their squad this summer.

Elsewhere, United have been linked with a move for Napoli midfielder Fabian Ruiz.

The report comes from Calcio Napoli 24 (via Man Utd News), who claim the Reds have contacted the Serie A side regarding the possibility of bringing Ruiz to Old Trafford this summer. Although an official bid has not been submitted, United appear to be weighing up a move for the player should they fail in their bid to sign Frenkie de Jong.

The club have been looking to strengthen their midfield during this transfer window and identified De Jong as their main target. However, the deal has proven to be a long and complex series of negotiations that have left United chiefs looking for alternatives.
