Antony and Lisandro Martinez have shown who Manchester United's next signing should be

Manchester United have a dilemma upfront. Anthony Martial has been in great form when he's played so far this season, scoring three goals and registering two assists in 133 minutes, but consistent injury problems mean his appearances have been limited and he suffered another issue against Everton at the weekend.

Cristiano Ronaldo is United's other option and when he came on as a substitute against Everton he impressed, scoring both the team's winner and his 700th goal in club football. However, that was only his second goal so far this season and if he doesn't rediscover his goalscoring touch then it's clear the team could struggle going forward.

There is also uncertainty surrounding whether Ronaldo will remain at Old Trafford past the January transfer window. So after the World Cup, United and Erik ten Hag will have to consider their options.

One option United could consider is Cody Gakpo. The Dutch forward was heavily linked with a move to Manchester in the summer transfer window but a transfer never materialised.

Gakpo has gone on to be a force of nature both in the Eredivisie and the Europa League this season. The 23-year-old has scored nine goals in nine games in the league while registering three assists and he also has three goals in the European competition.

The most impressive part of Gakpo is how unstoppable his shots seem to be. When he strikes the ball he seems to place it either exactly into the corner where he wants it or with too much power for the goalkeeper to have any chance of stopping it.
