Antony Alves on Rangers transfer radar as in-demand Brazilian 'followed' by Ibrox scouts

Top prospect Antony Alves is being tracked by Rangers with interest ramping up in the Brazilian talent, according to a report in Portugal.

Gio van Bronckhorst will look to put his own stamp on the side in the summer and the 20-year-old is reportedly on the Ibrox radar this summer.

The winger joined Portuguese side FC Arouca from Joinville last summer after a brief loan spell with Corinthians.

He has caught the eye in his breakthrough campaign in a European league netting twice in the Primeira Liga to help his side pull away from the relegation spots following promotion.

A Bola state that Rangers are among the clubs watching the development of the youngster.

However, if Ross Wilson and van Bronckhorst hope to bring the youngster to the Scottish Premiership in the summer they face stiff competition.

Swiss side Basel have reportedly also been tracking the starlet while "both clubs that have collected some notes on the player's evolution."

Rangers have already been looking to the summer with Hearts defender John Souttar this first to arrive after his pre-contract agreement earlier this year.
