Antonio Conte & Thomas Tuchel's handshake after Chelsea 2-2 Spurs caused chaos
Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday afternoon was packed full of drama.
Harry Kane scored a stoppage-time equaliser for the visitors after Reece James put the Blues 2-1 ahead st Stamford Bridge, but that was far from the game’s main headline moment.
Instead, it was the touchline rivalry between Antonio Conte and Thomas Tuchel, which made for pure Box Office viewing.
The two managers first clashed after Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg made it 1-1 in rather controversial fashion, the Switzerland international cancelling out Kalidou Koulibaly’s superb opener.
Kai Havertz was fouled by Rodrigo Bentancur 41 seconds before Hojbjerg’s goal was scored, but the officials didn’t award a free-kick to Chelsea.
Tuchel was fuming with the decision made by the referee and linesman, so to add fuel to the fire, his opposite number decided to celebrate right in his face on the touchline.
It was absolute chaos for a little while, with both managers rightly booked for their actions.
And those cards were upgraded to red after the full-time whistle had been blown.
Conte and Tuchel’s handshake after Anthony Taylor brought an end to a bona fide Premier League classic caused absolute chaos and it’s a minor miracle that things didn’t boil over even more than they did.
