Antonio Conte makes Harry Kane Tottenham transfer stance clear as he takes Bayern Munich swipe

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte has taken a dig at Julian Nagelsmann and Bayern Munich following the manager's comments about Harry Kane. Losing main man Robert Lewandowski to Barcelona during the week, the Bayern boss was asked in a press conference about a potential move for the Spurs ace to replace the Poland international.

Making it clear that the England captain would be "very expensive" if they were to launch a move for him, he also stated that they would "see what happens in the future" regarding a potential transfer. Those comments were put to Conte after Tottenham's 2-1 win over Rangers on Saturday, with the Spurs boss having his say on the situation and also the club's stance on Kane.

"Honestly I didn't hear this. For sure I'm a coach who doesn't talk about players from other teams. I don't know why [this happened]," he explained. "The situation at Tottenham is very clear. The plan is very clear with the club. Harry is a part of the project. He is a very important part of the project and yeah only rumours.

"At the same time I repeat I don't like to speak about players from another club. If I want to do something I go to speak to the club, not through the media. I think maybe it's a bit disrespectful for the other club. This is my way. This is my way to face the situation with other players."

Talk of Kane heading to the Allianz Arena has been in the headlines recently, with Bayern Munich CEO Oliver Kahn labelling a move for Kane as a "dream". With Nagelsmann pressed on Tottenham's No.10, the ex-RB Leipzig boss said it would be "really tough" for Bayern to get him.
