Antonio Conte hailed the atmosphere at Old Trafford before claiming Manchester United would struggle without the influence of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The Tottenham boss saw his side lost 3-2 in the north west after twice coming from behind to level the game. Ronaldo bagged a hat-trick including a late winner as the hosts kept their top four hopes alive.
Old Trafford, by no means renowned for its intimidating atmosphere, was cited as a major factor by Conte during an exchange with Ralf Rangnick. The Italian conceded it was "difficult" for his side to play amid the noise.
Rangnick claimed: "This is what Antonio Conte said after the game, it was a very difficult atmosphere. As I said, it's one of the biggest compliments that you can get if an opponent's coach speaks after the game of a difficult atmosphere for them, a special atmosphere."
The win saw United take hold of fourth momentarily before Arsenal seized back the initiative 24 hours later. Ronaldo returned in the summer following 12 years away with Real Madrid and Juventus.
