Antonio Conte has already sent Daniel Levy a message amid failed January transfers at Tottenham

We are into the final days of the January transfer window and Tottenham are yet to sign a player, but Antonio Conte recent comments on the window tell the club what they need to know about his views on the team.

Spurs have been linked with a number of players over the last few weeks, but seem to have lost out on deals for all three of Adama Traore, Luis Diaz and Dusan Vlahovic.

The Lilywhites have sent out three academy players on loan, whilst Dilan Markanday made a permanent move to Championship side Blackburn, although there is yet to be any movement within the first team.

There have been improvements seen both on and off the pitch since the arrival of Conte, but fresh faces are needed to help Tottenham improve their quality.

The Italian has been honest about his current Tottenham squad and he gave his analysis after the first defeat of the month to Chelsea.

"I think honestly that in this moment and the last years the level of Tottenham has dropped, it has dropped a lot," he admitted.

"Now you have to rebuild. To rebuild you need to have patience and to have patience you need to have time. We have to know the situation.

"I don’t see in the [January] transfer window the resolution of our problems. The resolution of our problems now is to work and improve all many aspects of our squad," Conte added.

"If you think if you buy one or two players and you solve the situation, you are not right."

After two months in charge Conte held talks with those above him to give his evaluation of the players, which he described as a "good meeting", explaining that he had told the club his thoughts and "the club has to decide the best way to go."
