Antonio Conte has now publicly confirmed his desire to remain at Tottenham Hotspur next season but only if his ambition is matched.

The Italian has swerved questions about next season in recent weeks, maintaining that he is not looking past the end of this campaign.

Many Tottenham fans and pundits have predicted that the 52-year-old, who has previously stated that the project at the north London club requires more time than he expected to turn them into challengers, will decide to leave in the summer.

The Spurs boss signed a deal until the summer of 2023 when he arrived at the club in November with an option in place to further extend his contract if both parties agree.

Now for the first time Conte has spelt it out clearly that he wants to continue in the job as long as his vision and that of the club's chairman Daniel Levy match.

"For sure at the moment there is only one truth - I am committed to this club for another year," he said. "The club wanted this type of situation and I accepted it because it was good to get to know each other.
