Anthony Joshua vs Tyson Fury fight AGREED as superfight set for December

British boxing stars Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury finally look set to take each other on after Joshua's management company 258MGT confirmed that they had accepted a decision to make the bout a formality on December 3, 2022.

The battle has been in the offing for years, with Joshua dominating the sport upon his burst onto the world title scene back in 2015 before Fury's comeback from mental health issues saw him sweep up every title possible, which he still holds to this day. Not since Carl Froch vs George Groves have fans eagerly anticipated a prospective fight as much as Joshua vs Fury, despite stars such as Dillian Whyte, Tony Bellew, Dereck Chisora and David Haye offering strong showings in the meantime.

But with Joshua having lost to Oleksandr Usyk last month, there is now a void in his calendar which Fury has looked to take advantage of since - and finally a score appears to have been settled, with Joshua's management making a statement about his future plans early on Tuesday morning.

"258 and Matchroom Boxing can confirm, on behalf of Anthony Joshua, that we accepted all terms presented to us by Fury’s team for a fight on Dec[ember] 3rd last Friday," 258MGT tweeted. Due to the Queen’s passing, it was agreed to halt all communication. We are awaiting a response."

Fury's last fight was against Whyte back in April, where he stopped the Jamaican-born star in six rounds with a brutal knockout that saw him continue his dominance of the sport with his 32nd win from 33 - the other of course being the dramatic draw against Deontay Wilder back in 2018.
