Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk 2: Fighters to earn 50/50 split of £65 million

Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk was just announced to the public as taking place on the 20th of August 2022 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia – but now new information has surfaced as to how much the fighters will be paid for this bout, which is a 50/50 split of a simply staggering £65 million.

The first battle between the two ended in bitter defeat in his hometown of London for AJ, as the Ukrainian picked him apart over 12 rounds and eventually won on a unanimous decision. Joshua will be looking for sweet revenge and will also be looking to reclaim his WBA, IBO and WBO belts in the neutral venue of Saudi Arabia.

Labelled the ‘Rage on the Red Sea’, this fight has been spoken about for a good while and was originally supposed to be sooner than anticipated.

The original bout was supposed to be closer to somewhere around June, however, when Russia invaded Ukraine, the champion flew back to his home country and joined his local territorial defence force in Kyiv – pushing the fight back even further.

Usyk eventually returned home to train for the fight in April, but no date had yet been set.

That was until the 19th of June 2022, when the world was told a date and a venue – generating mass hype in the boxing world.

Now we’re receiving more details day by day on the fight, including how much each of the fighters will receive – which as we know is a ridiculous 50/50 split of £65 million.
