Anthony Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk 2: Bob Arum provides update on Tyson Fury's future

Tyson Fury’s promoter Bob Arum has hinted he could make a U-turn on his decision to retire less than three months after hanging up his gloves.

The Gypsy King, 33, called it quits on his x-year career last month after successfully defending his WBC heavyweight title against Dillian Whyte.

But now the legendary boxing promoter has revealed he could be persuaded to change his mind depending on the outcome of Anthony Joshua’s rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

Arum, who counts Naoya Inoue, Vasyl Lomachenko and Josh Taylor among his clients and previously worked with the likes of Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard, told FightHype.com: “Fury is going to wait until the Joshua fight comes out with Usyk, and then he’ll make a determination if he wants to continue.

“Other than fighting the winner of Joshua vs Usyk, there’s really nothing there of interest to Tyson Fury, so we’ll have to see.”

Back in November 2018, Fury shocked the world when he defeated Wladimir Klitschko in Germany to win the WBA, WBO, IBF and IBO belts.

He followed that up by beating Deontay Wilder in his own backyard of Las Vegas in February 2020, before repeating that same feat a year later across the road at the T-Mobile Arena.

Announcing his retirement, he said: “This is the truth, the gospel truth, nothing but the truth, I’m done.

“You know every good dog has his day and like the Roman leader said, there will always be someone else to fight.”
