Anthony Joshua set to turn down DAZN offer and sign new Sky Sports deal

Anthony Joshua will remain on Sky Sports for the remainder of his career, according to sources.

The former British heavyweight world champion is free to choose his next network after his deal with Sky expired after his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in September but it is believed he will sign a fresh long-term deal.

DAZN were hoping Eddie Hearn could lure Joshua to DAZN but the heavyweight thinks Sky Sports is still the biggest broadcaster in the UK.

It is a blow for DAZN who had been hoping to sign Joshua to boost their UK platform. The OTT service has an exclusive deal with Eddie Matchroom Boxing which includes Joshua Buatsi and Lawrence Okolie - two fighters who are managed by Joshua himself under 258 MGMT.

Despite Joshua fighting on Sky and Hearn promoting on DAZN, there is no chance of the pair splitting. Joshua signed a life-long deal with Matchroom Boxing one week before his contest against Usyk last year.

Providing an update earlier this year about the rematch, Hearn told Planet Sport:

"So he may want to go to wherever the biggest offer is, and we are obviously open to that as well.
