Anthony Joshua leaves Sky Sports to join rival broadcaster for £100m

Anthony Joshua has officially left Sky Sports to join Eddie Hearn's DAZN and will earn up to £100 million in the multi-year deal. Joshua had previously fought all of his professional bouts on Sky Sports and Sky Sports Box Office, but has now left to join with his promoter at DAZN.

Part of the deal will see Joshua become a shareholder, special advisor, and brand ambassador for DAZN. In his role as special advisor, Joshua will join DAZN's strategic advisory board.

On his move to DAZN, Joshua said: "I am entering a new phase in my career with a new training environment, new coaches and now a new broadcaster. Negotiations at this level take time so I am pleased to have it all wrapped up and now I can fully focus on giving the fans and DAZN what they want, knockouts in the glamour division.

"I've been working with DAZN and following its progress for a long time. We have enjoyed a really successful partnership in the US for many years and I know the team and understand the passion and drive of the business.

"DAZN's vision and passion to innovate is what attracted me to the partnership. They are leading the digital landscape in sport and the future of sports broadcasting.

"I am really looking forward to a long and successful partnership."

Eddie Hearn signed a billion dollar deal with DAZN in 2021, with Joshua now joining him. It means that Joshua vs Oleksandr Usyk on July 23 will be shown exclusively on the streaming channel - which viewers can purchase for £7.99 a month.
