Anthony Elanga sparks Man United backlash with social media post about star’s transfer away

Anthony Elanga's cryptic response to Maxi Oyedele's departure from Manchester United has angered supporters of the club.

The Swedish forward ended his seven-year stay at Old Trafford last summer, completing a £15million switch to Nottingham Forest. He went on to play a key role in their 2023/24 season success, helping them stay up in the Premier League.

Remaining close with many at Manchester United, the 22-year-old took to Instagram with a cryptic message following Oyedele's revelation that he's departing the Premier League giants after a 12-year spell, signing with Poland's Legia Warsaw, reports the Mirror.

"My time at Manchester United has finally come to an end. I want to say thank you to the only club I've ever known," the midfielder wrote. "Honoured to say I've been at the club for 12 years and had some unbelievable experiences with some amazing teammates.

"Thank you to all the coaches, staff and the fans, I will never forget the memories I have made at this club. I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best as I leave ready to start the next chapter of my career. This club will always be my home and once again thank you. Once a red, always a red."

Various United talents expressed their good wishes in the comments as Oyedele announced his move to a new club, with Kobbie Mainoo writing: "My brother, all
