Another bumpy ride in store: No end in sight for Mercedes porpoising issues, says Hamilton
The porpoising problem Mercedes experienced in Bahrain had no relation to the circuit, and those same problems will hound them in Saudi Arabia, says Lewis Hamilton.
Hamilton had significant issues with his Mercedes W13 as the car visibly bounced in the straights in Bahrain. This is related to the new ground-effect aerodynamics, which affects how the floor interacts with airflow.
Hamilton told Racingnews365.com that porpoising will still be an issue at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
"It's definitely not track-specific because we still had the problem in Barcelona," he told the media in Bahrain.
"It's not as bumpy as here, but we still had the problem there. [Bahrain] is a bumpy track, and we've had these longer straights.

"We anticipate in the next race - they have much longer straights there - we will have the same issue unless we fix it. And there's a considerable number of people in the background who are working, brilliant[ly], around the clock, trying to come up with the right solutions.
"We don't often jump the gun – everything's thoroughly gone through before we make decisions."
Hamilton finished third at the opening race in Bahrain after a double-retirement from rivals Reb Bull.
