'Annoying child was kicking seat on plane – his parents did nothing so I took action'

A woman has shared her experience of how she confronted a child on a plane, resulting in a journey he'll never forget.

Jewellery designer Kitty Colvin took to Threads to share her story, writing: "One time on a plane a kid [aged 6] was being absolutely awful kicking the seat in front of him."

Kitty detailed that the child was kicking so hard that the person in the seat had to call over a flight attendant to speak with the mother. She added: "Her response was to give him an iPad at full volume.

"The kicking became mindless instead of intentional but didn't stop. After about 20 minutes of screaming and bell sounds, the same passenger had the flight attendant come over again which did nothing. Then came my turn."

In an attempt to calm the child, his father decided to place him on his lap, which was next to Kitty and her partner. She wrote: "He was kicking and throwing himself around having a little tantrum and the whole time all of this was happening both parents were kissing him all over his head and face to soothe him to absolutely no avail.

"My partner had been napping in the middle seat of our aisle, but now is awakened to this huge child writhing and screeching on his dad's lap. I stand it for about five minutes. My partner is staring into space wide-eyed trying to not freak out.

"I, sitting in the window seat, lean over, pull my mask down, narrow my eyes into evil lil slits, and hear my mom's voice come out through my gritted teeth: 'You better knock. it. off. RIGHT. now'. I literally snarled. When I tell you that child looked as if he had never been spoken to like that in his whole life. His eyes got huge, he shrank into a little ball on his dad's lap and stared at me all terrified for a minute then passed out
