Angus Gunn will belt out Flower of Scotland as dad Bryan tips son to jump in to Hampden atmosphere head first

Angus Gunn will belt out the Scottish national anthem when he rocks up at Hampden for the first time, according to dad Bryan.

The Norwich keeper has switched allegiances to declare for Steve Clarke's team having come through the youth ranks with England as he's become the latest star to jump aboard in the hopes of senior international football. There have been some questioning his commitment to the cause, particularly after some social media activity emerged from Euro 2020 that strongly hinted he was cheering on England rather than the Scots.

But dad Bryan, who made six appearances for Scotland, reckons his son will show his passion from the off and win over the doubters. He reckons he'll see his boy belt out Flower of Scotland ahead of clashes with Cyprus and Spain later this month - and he won't accept anything less.

He told the Scottish Sun: "It is something Angus has thought hard about (switching allegiances). This is the first squad that's come around since the friendly games before the World Cup. Crucially he's playing regularly for Norwich now, while before that wasn't happening. He's a passionate kid. He loves playing football and winning matches.

"And I'm sure when he sings Flower of Scotland he will give it his all. Hopefully he'll be able to move his lips and not be one of those players who doesn't join in. But Hampden Park can only lend its voice to the situation as well, and I'm sure Angus will feel part of the squads from the moment he arrives.
