Ange won't fear Liverpool but Tottenham 'tonking' predicted as Glenn Hoddle names his one Postecoglou concern

Ange Postecoglou won't care about who Tottenham are playing - but his style of play will lead to getting a doing one day.

That's the view of former Spurs player and manager Glenn Hoddle who reckons Ange vs Klopp will be the blockbuster clash of the weekend in the Premier League, but that the Aussie's all-or-nothing style of football that Celtic fans were used to will eventually lead to them taking a 'tonking' at the expense of one of the league's big guns. Yet Postecoglou is six games deep and undefeated in the league, after sharing the spoils with adversary Mikel Arteta in the North London derby last weekend.

A meeting of the tactical minds between himself and Jurgen Klopp on Saturday is on the agenda, with Liverpool also starting the season strong. And former England manager Hoddle reckons the Spurs contingent have doubled down on the Aussie's vision, and by the 57-year-old's own admission that it doesn't matter who they play, his style won't change. It was a familiar mantra of Postecoglou's spell in Glasgow but the pace and brutality of the Premier League could catch the Aussie unawares

Hoddle said: “The players are buying into it. Ange Postecoglou says ‘I don’t care who we are going to play’. He will be the same if he goes to Liverpool and Man City. He will play the same way.

"They might take a bit of a tonking one day. They might get beat by three. But I think the players like the fact that he is on the front foot, they are going to press and put lots of bodies forward.

“They have got ability on the ball now. You have got to say there are some really good players. They are going under the radar, at the moment, Tottenham. Ange won’t mind them being under the radar. They are an impressive outfit.”
