Ange's Celtic still top after Rogic double
Socceroo Tom Rogic has scored a first-half double as Celtic maintained their new position at the top of the Scottish Premiership with an impressive 4-0 victory at Motherwell.
Ange Postecoglou's side subjected Motherwell to the same first-half demolition that they carried out against Rangers in midweek and again led by three goals at halftime on Sunday following Liel Abada's opener and Rogic's superbly-taken brace.
This time Celtic continued their domination after the break and Daizen Maeda rounded off a one-sided win at Fir Park.
The visitors cut fourth-placed Motherwell open time after time with home goalkeeper Liam Kelly busy throughout.
Celtic opened the scoring in the 28th minute, with Reo Hatate delivering a wonderful low cross which the untracked Abada ran on to and swept home.
The visitors doubled the lead three minutes later following a throw-in on the right wing. Abada passed inside to Rogic who was faced by Liam Donnelly but the Australian had the time and space to measure a trademark curling effort into the top corner from 22 yards.
Rogic's second came in first half stoppage-time, Abada cutting the ball back for the Socceroo to slot home.
After Maeda's fourth, Celtic were hungry for more and Rogic could have had a hat-trick, only first to see one shot hit the outside of the post before he was then thwarted by a fine save.
Meanwhile, the returning Alfredo Morelos helped put smiles back on the faces of Rangers fans on Sunday with a double in the 5-0 hammering of Hearts at Ibrox - but they're still a point behind their arch rivals.
Postecoglou was left delighted by the way his players had maintained the standards set in Wednesday's 3-0 derby win.
"I was pleased with that, especially after Wednesday night,"
