Ange Postecoglou 'unlikely' to leave Celtic before the summer but Tottenham consider Antonio Conte waiting game

Celtic boss Ange Postecoglou will reportedly turn down any potential interest from Tottenham if a mid-season Parkhead exit is put on the table.

Antonio Conte is under mounting pressure at Spurs after the Premier League side crashed out of the last 16 of the Champions League with a whimper as they failed to break down the resolute Italian side in London. Despite sitting in the top four of the table and being on course to secure a spot among Europe's elite for next term, with no shot at silverware chairman Daniel Levy is reportedly considering sacking Conte before the end of the season with his current contract set to expire in the summer.

Former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino and ex-Chelsea gaffer Thomas Tuchel are among the frontrunners, with reports south of the border suggesting Celtic's Postecoglou is being considered as a plan B. Levy is reportedly an admirer of the Parkhead boss and has included the boss on a 5 man shortlist of alternative candidates.

However, Levy has yet to decide if Conte will see out the final 12 games of the season, with The Telegraph reporting that Postecoglou is unlikely to walk away from Celtic Park during the campaign. However, it is noted that the former Chelsea and Inter boss could see out the campaign while Levy assess the situation.

Postecoglou, Brighton's Roberto De Zerbi and Luis Enrique are all named as "unlikely" next bosses that will want a pre-season campaign to implement their ideas. The Hoops' boss has previously played down speculation about his future after hitting 100 games as boss with the win against Hearts.
