Ange Postecoglou seizes on epic Tottenham interview gaffe as boss makes clear he drinks points NOT pints

Man of the moment Ange Postecocglou sipped on the sweet taste of Tottenham returning to the English Premier League summit before sharply correcting an interview gaffe.

The former Celtic boss watched his Spurs side twice punish Calvin Bassey's ropey passing to secure a 2-0 win over Fulham on Monday night and charge to the summit of the world's most competitive league. But Postecoglou was quick to set an interviewer straight on talkSPORT when he was told he no one had "started a Premier League career with as many pints as you have".

The mistake was seized on by Postecoglou who was quick to set the record straight. He replied: "I guarantee I haven't broken any pint records, mate". The manager has returned 23 points out of his first nine games and can open up a five-point lead atop the EPL table as Tottenham go first next weekend when they take on Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Friday night.

Meanwhile, Harry Redknapp admits he is delighted Tottenham paid attention to his multiple recommendations to hire the revered 58-year-old from Celtic in the summer as he claimed he was his recommendation. Redknapp said: "All round they look very, very good at the moment. Good days at Tottenham for sure, and let's hope they keep enjoying it and they keep playing like that.

"The manger is a breath of fresh air, I like him. I kept sticking his name up when they were looking for a manager I kept saying they should try to get him and he has come in and done great."
