Ange Postecoglou's incredible Tottenham speech wins over more converts as football 'ignoring' major issue

Ange Postecoglou has issued a passionate and measured response to footballers suffering from mental health issues, saying we ignore it too often in the game.

The Aussie has been lauded for his charismatic attitude to the beautiful game with Celtic fans falling in love with the man they called 'Big Ange' during his trophy-laden two years in Glasgow. Postecoglou has now been exposed to more eyes since making the move to the Premier League and Tottenham with his sharp wit and infectious attitude clear to see, compounded by him winning manager of the month and being nominated for FIFA's Best Coach award alongside the upper echelon of football management such as Pep Guardiola of Manchester City.

But the 57-year-old has now issued an important response when quizzed on the condition of Brazilian forward Richarlison, who broke down in tears while on international duty and then admitted he was to “seek psychological help” when returning to London to come back with strength for Postecoglou's men. The Aussie says players don't always have the 'perfect life' and that some more empathy across the game would go a long way. It's a clip that has already been shared far and wide with fans uniting behind the manager's words.

He said: “I think with all the players they all get whatever help and assistance they require here. It doesn’t always happen in the public eye because most of it is done in-house. But we provide all the support and whatever the players need. Sometimes they seek it, sometimes we offer help. So whatever Richy (Richarlison) needs, we’ll help him get to the space he wants to.
