Ange Postecoglou left with Celtic giggles at 'revenge' motivator theory as win over Rangers provides relentless task

Ange Postecoglou says Sunday's win over Rangers should give Celtic a desire to keep winning silverware - but any notion of taking revenge out on St Mirren has been cast aside.

The Premiership champions are on a high after the 2-1 Viaplay Cup showpiece success over their bitter rivals, but a tough away league fixture awaits this weekend against St Mirren. Stephen Robinson's Buddies are the only team to beat them domestically this term but beforehand, Postecoglou says the Celtic players have been fuelled up by a taste of success.

He told Sky Sports: "It's always great to win trophies and that is the first one on offer. It was a great day for our club and our lads performed awfully well in a tough game against a tough opponent, but we got the job done, enjoyed Sunday and got back to work on Tuesday. Hopefully you come out it with a drive and desire to do it again. Hopefully they all want to be there again and want to perform a the highest level and bring success to the club."

They want to win on Sunday, but the Celtic boss insists it has nothing to do for revenge for their 2-0 defeat last time out in Renfrewshire.
