Ange Postecoglou in hopeful Celtic update as he has his fingers crossed for positive Reo Hatate diagnosis

Ange Postecoglou is hopeful Reo Hatate will be available for Celtic following the international break after the midfielder was taken off injured in their 3-1 win over Hibernian.

The Parkhead side regained their nine-point lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership after coming from behind to defeat 10-man Hibs thanks to goals from Jota, Oh and Haksabanovic. It was a game full of controversy, with Josh Campbell giving Hibernian a half-time lead from a VAR-assisted penalty after a harsh red card for Elie Youan.

Portuguese winger Jota levelled from a 52nd-minute penalty and there were fierce protests from Campbell after Oh's goal as the Hibs midfielder appealed for a foul. The home fans could only relax in stoppage time when substitute Sead Haksabanovic scored a well-taken goal to secure the three points. The win was soured by the injury of Hatate who was substituted in the 13th minute after picking up a knock with the Japanese star replaced by David Turnbull.

Celtic go into the international break with a nine-point cushion to Rangers at the summit with Ross County next up Postecoglou's side.

Postecoglou was asked about Hatate's injury on Sportsound: "I haven't seen it. I haven't spoken to the medical team yet but having a couple of weeks off will help him in terms of that recovery but disappointing to lose him.

"He has been a big part of what we do."
