Ange Postecoglou and Stephen Robinson headline PFA Scotland Manager of the Year shortlist as 4 nominees announced

PFA Scotland have announced the four candidates for Manager of the Year with Ange Postecoglou and Stephen Robinson the Premiership representatives.

The Celtic and St Mirren bosses are joined by James McPake and Darren Young - title-winners with Dunfermline and Stirling Albion respectively. The four managers have been the standouts in the SPFL this season with McPake the first manager across all four leagues to get his hands on the title, leading the Pars to a relentless charge over the line.

That was shortly followed by Young whose Stirling side have blown League Two away despite Dumbarton threatening as favourites early on. A 0-0 draw at The Rock last month made sure of that as the Binos return to the second tier after a prolonged absence in the basement league. Higher up the SPFL food chain, Postecoglou has led Celtic to a second successive Premiership crown and things could get even better with a Treble within his sights if the Hoops beat Inverness in the June 3 Scottish Cup final.

Robinson meanwhile led the Buddies to a famous top six finish and they remain in with a chance of European football. He's the only non-title-winning manager on the shortlist with Dundee's Gary Bowyer the only league-winner to miss out this season.
