Ange banishes Tottenham mind games as Antonio Conte ploy chucked in the bin to earn Spurs acclaim

New Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou has continued his charm offensive by banishing an unpopular ploy of the Antonio Conte era.

The no-nonsense Italian was a divisive presence in North London and the former Celtic manager is aiming to be a harmonious figure for a club in desperate need of a pick-me-up. The 57-year-old instantly turned heads at Tottenham with personal phone calls to players. And now the Daily Mail state Conte's controversial call to forego schedules and set a training time for the following day has been consigned to history.

Postecoglou's decision to gives his Spurs stars a heads-up has been warmly received in N17 with the Australian hell-bent on getting his new team back on form. He still has challenges to navigate with Harry Kane's future up in the air, however, Postecoglou's subtle changes, such as shaking players' hands upon arrival on the training pitch, have been noted among a playing staff itching to prove their worth.

Tottenham are in the hunt for fresh signings with Manor Solomon on the verge of joining Postecoglou's revolution. Wolfsburg and Leverkusen defenders Micky van de Ven and Edmond Tapsoba are on his wishlist as he aims to bolster a defence which collapsed in the final weeks of the season.

And the next phase of his revolution will kick into life as he takes his Spurs team Down Under as part of their pre-season preparations with several friendlies as they ramp up ahead of their opening Premier League fixture with Brentford on August 13.
