Amid all the smiles after Liverpool's triumph over Chelsea, Andy Robertson playfully accused Jordan Henderson of not backing him to score in their penalty shootout success.

The Reds lifted the Carabao Cup at Wembley after seeing off the Blues on spot-kicks following a goalless 120 minutes.

Liverpool were perfect from 12 yards, scoring all of their penalties before Kepa Arrizabalaga blazed over.

The length of the shootout meant every player had to step up with Robertson being the eighth Liverpool star to be called upon.

And the Scottish left-back sent Kepa the wrong way, slotting home comfortably.

Robertson is anything but prolific, scoring six times in his five seasons at Anfield, but showed plenty of composure at Wembley. He then joked with his captain afterwards that he felt Henderson lacked faith.

"He didn't back me, he didn't back me," said the Scot for the entire dressing room to hear.

But Henderson quickly replied, saying emphatically: "Of course I backed you."

The victory means Liverpool have claimed the Carabao Cup for the first time under Jurgen Klopp having not won it since 2012.

It also keeps alive their quadruple hopes as they still harbour hopes of success in the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League.
